Rose Red Books is an imprint of Fireopal Books and is mainly for children’s books, though we’ll also be publishing some lighthearted works on wellbeing.
The name comes from the Grimm fairy tale, Snow White and Rose Red. Rose Red and her sister Snow White live in a small cottage in the woods with their mother. When a bear knocks at the door it is the lively Rose Red who has the courage to open it, not her quieter sister.
Our first publication is about a similarly feisty character, Mary Braveheart, a wee cat who crosses the border into Bumberland and ends up at the Cat Inn, run by the kind landlady, Sharon, who has three boy cats - Jinty, Jonty and Jimmy. Mary ends up bossing the boys around and taking them on adventures.

Mary Braveheart Comes To The Cat Inn
Out of a great storm a little figure emerges – Mary Braveheart. She seeks shelter in the warmth of the Cat Inn, where there are three boy cats – Jonty, Jinty and Jimmy. They don’t know what’s about to hit them.
Mary looks like a dainty little cat, but she bosses them about and takes them on all sorts of adventures.
Review For Mary Braveheart Comes To The Cat Inn
Remarkable, funny and wise. It is a book not only children will enjoy but adults as well.
